Nothing says festive celebrations like a glass of Baileys Irish cream liqueur and supermarkets have already gone head to head in a price war this Christmas.
Tesco announced 1L bottles were reduced to £13 for Clubcard shoppers and Sainsburys responded by matching the bargain price. With its heady blend of Irish whiskey and spirits, Irish dairy cream, chocolate and vanilla flavours, Baileys certainly helps to warm the cockles in the cold winter months, and for many of us, it’s an absolute must-have tipple for the Christmas season.
As the discerning drinker's bible, Difford’s Guide, agrees Baileys is “the world’s best-selling liqueur” and rocking in at 17 per cent ABV it could also be potentially potent if you get too carried away with its creamy goodness. Not content with the sumptuously smooth taste of their original offering, the Irish brand is famous for releasing limited edition flavours all year round.
