Asda customer parks in trolley bay at Scots store as locals left in stitches

An Asda customer has left fellow shoppers in stitches after leaving their car in a trolley bay instead of a parking space. The red Volkswagen was spotted sandwiched in-between a Mini Cooper and a Citroen in the car park at the supermarket in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, on Tuesday, September 27.

One shopper, parked facing the peculiarly placed motor, captured the hilarious image and posted it to social media. Residents were left in stitches as they came to their own conclusions as to what had happened.

On what was a blustery, rainy day - some suggested the shopper was just keen to keep their motor dry while they picked up their groceries. Meanwhile others suggested that what the shopper really needed was to make a second trip - to Specsavers.

Posting the picture to Facebook, the eyewitness said: "New type of trolly at Asda"... followed by a number of laughing emojis. One person quickly replied: “Keeps the rain off. If only my big wagon fitted in these cosy wee shelters – wouldn’t get soaked getting the kids out.”

Another agreed: “Well it is raining, maybe wanted to keep the car dry?” A third joked: “Do you still need a pound coin?”

Another suggested: “Maybe a leaky roof?” while another suggested the the driver “should have gone to Specsavers”. Asda have been contacted by the Record for comment.
