As winter nears, some parents are still searching for the new pediatric COVID shot

Anne Hamilton captures the moment outside a pop-up vaccine clinic in a park in Los Angeles, with two of her children, 11-year-old Katie and 4-year-old Jimmy. Hamilton spent 16 days searching for a vaccine for Jimmy, who needed the formulation for children under 5. She eventually found the shot at this temporary clinic run by the L.A. County Dept. of Public Health. (Anne Hamilton)

On September 12, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended the next round of COVID shots for everyone 6 months and older.

The CDC indicated that the shots would be available within days in pharmacies and doctor's offices across the country.
