As Covid cases drop, night curfew lifted in Noida

NOIDA: With a sharp drop in Covid-19 cases, Gautam Budh Nagar district magistrate Suhas LY issued an order to lift the night curfew, imposed between 11 pm and 5 am, on Saturday.

The decision came after the home department reviewed the graded response guidelines and decided to lift the restrictions across the state.

On Saturday, GB Nagar added 62 more patients while 14 new cases were reported in Ghaziabad — currently, the two districts have 453 and 252active cases, respectively. According to health officials, Ghaziabad’s test positivity rate slipped from 0.65% recorded a day back to 0.25% on Saturday, while GB Nagar’s stood around 1%.

The number of hospitalisations has also come down since February 1. At present, 10 patients undergoing treatment in separate Ghaziabad facilities while 199 are in home isolation. The district has also been performing between 5,000 and 8,000 Covid tests every day to monitor the prevalence of the virus. On Saturday, over 5,300 tests were conducted, officials said.
