Arsenal XI vs Liverpool: Starting lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for Premier League game today

Arsenal start Takehiro Tomiyasu at left-back against Liverpool today with Oleksandr Zinchenko still sidelined.

Zinchenko was absent from training on Wednesday as he nurses a knee issue and was also omitted from the squad for Thursday’s 3-0 win over Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League. Kieran Tierney started that game at Emirates Stadium and was taken off with 20 minutes to go.

Tierney was expected to keep his spot against Liverpool this afternoon, but it’s the versatile Tomiyasu who starts on the left-hand side of defence instead.

Asked for team news on Friday, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said: “We will have more tomorrow. We have another training session and we will know more tomorrow.”

Other than that, Arteta reverts back to the team that beat Tottenham in the north London derby last weekend after making eight changes for Thursday’s win over Bodo. Emile Smith Rowe and Mohamed Elneny remain sidelined, however.

Arsenal starting XI (4-3-3): Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Tomiyasu; Odegaard, Partey, Xhaka; Saka, Jesus, Martinelli.

Subs: Tierney, Nketiah, Holding, Cedric, Vieira, Sambi Lokonga, Nelson, Alencar, Turner.

Sunday 4.30pm BST, Sky Sports

Venue: Emirates Stadium

Referee: Michael Oliver

Injured: Elneny (hamstring), Smith Rowe (groin), Zinchenko (knee)
