Tottenham's Matt Doherty believes the team has "clicked" after their rampant win over Newcastle United allowed them to leapfrog rivals Arsenal.
Those on the white half of north London saw their side stick five past the Magpies on Sunday afternoon despite falling behind initially. Antonio Conte's outfit are still chasing an elusive top four spot and a place in next season's Champions League and have now won five of their last six.
Tottenham have enjoyed a renaissance under Conte, despite results earlier in his tenure going against them, which led to rumours the Italian could leave. Now though the former Chelsea manager's principles and ideas look to be making the difference with Doherty talking up the mood in the camp.
It looks as if it will be Tottenham or Arsenal who finish in fourth with the Gunners now looking to respond against Crystal Palace on Monday night. Mikel Arteta's side are level of points with their rivals but have two games in hand. They do still have to travel to Tottenham however and have been warned about the upward trajectory of their neighbours.
Doherty told the Evening Standard : “We don’t feel the pressure, we are feeling the excitement, we feel really confident at the moment, we feel like everybody is on top of their game. We are going into games thinking we are going to win, to the point where we just can’t wait to play the next game.
“It shoots us into the top four, we have done our job, we have had an inspired display [against Newcastle ], especially in the second half. But we just have to look after our own games, we know we still have to play Arsenal. We are going to think for every game of the season that it is a must-win game and we can’t afford to slip up. It’s nice that we have done our job first this weekend — and let’s just see if the result goes our way tonight.”

Tottenham have missed out on the Champions League for the past two seasons. Arsenal too have been absent from Europe's top table for several years and are aiming to complete a huge turnaround having lost their opening three games of the season.
The clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium could go along way to deciding who does finish in the top four with Conte confessing their neighbours do still hold a the upper hand. He said: "We know very well that in this race there are other teams that may in this moment have an advantage.
"Arsenal has to play two games. Don't forget Manchester United. Don't forget West Ham and Wolverhampton is having a fantastic season. This league is very difficult. I'm happy because hard work is paying off."
