Arsenal welcome Southampton to the Emirates Stadium on Friday night in a perfect opportunity for a return to form for Mikel Arteta's side.
The Gunners relinquished 2-0 leads to West Ham United and Liverpool in their last couple of games with Manchester City closing the gap from second place to only four points with a game-in-hand. That is why Arsenal beating Southampton, bottom of the Premier League and four points adrift of safety, is crucial for Mikel Arteta's side with City in FA Cup action this weekend.
Ruben Selles' Saints are six games without a win, when they beat fellow relegation battlers Leicester City on March 4, and look all-but relegated after a run of only two points from a possible 18 since their most recent victory. The Gunners could do with regaining momentum with a crunch clash against City coming up at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday.
