Arsenal vs Bournemouth LIVE: Premier League result, latest updates and fan reaction

Arsenal vs Bournemouth LIVE

Arsenal's Premier League title hopes were dealt a significant blow following a 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday. Junior Kroupi handed the visitors a well-earned lead after 17 minutes before Viktor Gyokeres clawed a laboured Arsenal back into the game from the penalty spot.

However, Alex Scott restored Bournemouth's advantage in the 74th minute and Mikel Arteta's shell-shocked side failed to find a response of any sort. Arsenal's loss hands Manchester City the chance to reduce the nine-point lead to six when they face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon, seven days before the top two meet at the Etihad Stadium.

Bournemouth, meanwhile, have boosted their chances of qualifying for Europe by winning at the Emirates Stadium in successive seasons. The Cherries remain unbeaten in the league since losing the reverse fixture back in January and were well worth all three points on what may have been a decisive day in the title race. Follow the game LIVE below with our dedicated match blog, featuring expert insight and analysis from Matt Verri at the Emirates Stadium.

That's been coming. Arsenal so shaky at the back all afternoon. Scott can just stroll into the box and tuck home. Arsenal's title hopes in serious danger of derailing right here.

GOAL! Arsenal 1-2 Bournemouth | Alex Scott ‘74

14:04 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

74 min: BOURNEMOUTH BACK IN FRONT!

A wonderfully worked goal from Alex Scott puts Bournemouth ahead for a second time this afternoon.

Emirates Stadium is stunned.

Arsenal 1-1 Bournemouth

14:01 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Arsenal 1-1 Bournemouth

13:58 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

69 min: Rice trying to drag Arsenal over the line. Nice surging run to get the team up the pitch before forcing a save from Petrovic.

Ball falls kindly for Lewis-Skelly who shoots through a crowd but his effort is blocked.

Double change for Bournemouth as Rayan and Christie make way for Adams and Brooks.

Matt Verri at Emirates Stadium

13:55 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Gyokeres with a tidy finish, even if he was offside, but apart from that this is not looking promising for Arsenal.

Not helping is the fact there is almost a riot in the stands every time Raya plays a short pass in his own box.

Arsenal 1-1 Bournemouth

13:55 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

66 min: Good feet from Christie but he fires a shot over the bar.

Arsenal 1-1 Bournemouth

Arsenal 1-1 Bournemouth

13:50 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Arsenal 1-1 Bournemouth

13:49 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

60 min: Those Arsenal changes have not made a difference of yet. Huge 30 minutes ahead in north London.

Matt Verri at Emirates Stadium

13:46 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

What have I just seen. Raya trying a first-time pass with the outside of his boot in his own six-yard box. He's so lucky that bounced off Evanilson and behind.

Arsenal 1-1 Bournemouth

13:45 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

56 min: Wow! Raya tries to play a pass with the outside of his foot and the ball strikes Evanilson before going out of play. So fortunate.

Arsenal 1-1 Bournemouth

13:42 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

54 min: Strong goalkeeping from Petrovic as he deals with an Arsenal corner.

Triple Arsenal change follows as Havertz, Martinelli and Madueke make way for Eze, Trossard and Dowman.

Matt Verri at Emirates Stadium

13:40 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Barely five minutes into the half and Arteta has seen enough. Trossard and Eze about to come on.

Arsenal 1-1 Bournemouth

13:37 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

47 min: Arsenal have a chance to build an attack but Havertz is adjudged to have handled the ball.

KICK-OFF!

13:33 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Back underway in north London.

No changes from either side at the break.

Wonder how long Mikel Arteta will leave it until he calls for the likes of Eberechi Eze, Leandro Trossard and Max Dowman.

Arsenal 1-1 Bournemouth

13:30 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Arsenal level with their first shot on target, no mistake from Viktor Gyokeres.

Arsenal 1-1 Bournemouth

Fan reaction: Arsenal changes

13:22 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Matt Verri at Emirates Stadium

13:20 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

All in all, not a great half from Arsenal. Second best early on and without that penalty have not really looked like scoring.

Too many nervy, sloppy moments on the ball. Massive 45 minutes ahead. Forget about the performance, just need to find a way.

HALF-TIME

13:18 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Arsenal 1-1 Bournemouth

Arsenal 1-1 Bournemouth

13:18 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

45+2 min: Chance for Arsenal right at the end of the first half as Rice stands over a free-kick...

It’s a fine delivery but Hill makes a very good clearance.

Arsenal 1-1 Bournemouth

13:16 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

45 min: Into TWO minutes of stoppage time.

Arsenal 1-1 Bournemouth

13:15 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

44 min: Bournemouth creeping ever closer to the Arsenal goal with these free-kicks. Scott with the delivery that goes straight through, any sort of touch and it’s a goal.

Arsenal 1-1 Bournemouth

13:13 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

43 min: Duels everywhere! First Truffert fouls Madueke and then Havertz gets into a wrestling match. The result is a Bournemouth free-kick which Arsenal eventually get away.

Arsenal 1-1 Bournemouth

13:11 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

41 min: Raya called into action to make a save from Evanilson. Zubimendi then loses the ball cheaply and Scott runs onto it but clips an effort over the bar.

Arsenal 1-1 Bournemouth

13:10 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

39 min: Would you believe that Gyokeres’ penalty was Arsenal’s first shot on target this afternoon? Mikel Arteta’s side will need to generate a lot more chances if they’re to win this.

Matt Verri at Emirates Stadium

13:07 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

For all Gyokeres has had his doubters this season, I don't think anyone really doubted what would happen with that penalty. Hammered into the corner and Arsenal needed that so, so badly.

GOAL! Arsenal 1-1 Bournemouth | Viktor Gyokeres ‘35

13:06 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

35 min: ARSENAL EQUALISE!

No mistake from Viktor Gyokeres from the spot, thumped home.

Arsenal 0-1 Bournemouth

13:05 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

34 min: Arsenal penalty confirmed for handball against Ryan Christie.

Gyokeres to take...

Arsenal 0-1 Bournemouth

13:04 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

33 min: Rice takes aim from just outside the area, the effort lacks much power but it’s deflected behind for a corner which results in a penalty!

Arsenal 0-1 Bournemouth

13:01 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

30 min: Better from Madueke as he takes on Truffert and wins Arsenal a free-kick. Rice standing over this free-kick, his deliveries have been on point so far this afternoon but this one is too strong and the ball goes behind.

Arsenal 0-1 Bournemouth

13:00 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

29 min: Fine goalkeeping from Raya as he claims a long throw and immediately sets Arsenal on the attack, Rice tries to slip in Gyokeres but the pass is cut out by Christie.

Arsenal 0-1 Bournemouth

12:57 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

27 min: Gabriel with a brave block to stop Bournemouth doubling their lead.

Matt Verri at Emirates Stadium

12:56 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

The mood is already turning very nervy. Havertz with a poor pass when he should have released Martinelli, lots of groans.

Also been some frustration with how long Arsenal have taken over throw-ins. Stress levels are only going to rise the longer it stays 1-0....

Arsenal 0-1 Bournemouth

12:56 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

25 min: Gabriel does well to win Rice’s free-kick at the back post and he heads the ball down into a dangerous area but the Bournemouth players are first to react.

Arsenal look to keep up the pressure but Madueke overruns the ball.

Arsenal 0-1 Bournemouth

12:54 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

24 min: Raya takes out five Bournemouth players with a pass to Havertz but the German, in acres of space ahead of him, underhits a pass to Martinelli. Cue frustration from the home fans.

Matt Verri at Emirates Stadium

12:51 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Havertz has to score. Brilliant ball in from Rice and Havertz somehow finds himself in space four yards out.

Massive miss. Arsenal have responded well to going behind, though. Straight on the front foot.

Arsenal 0-1 Bournemouth

12:51 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

20 min: CHANCE! Arsenal’s first big opportunity of the game comes from a set-piece but Havertz can’t keep his header down.

Matt Verri at Emirates Stadium

12:49 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Last thing Arsenal needed was to fall behind early. Bit unfortunate with how it deflected off Saliba into Kroupi's path but they were cut open too easily to start with.

Big roar immediately goes around the stadium from the Arsenal fans, trying to rally their side.

GOAL! Arsenal 0-1 Bournemouth | Eli Junior Kroupi ‘17

12:49 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

17 min: BOURNEMOUTH LEAD!

The Cherries strike first as Eli Junior Kroupi taps home at the back post after Adrien Truffert's cross was deflected by William Saliba.

How will Arsenal react?

Arsenal 0-0 Bournemouth

12:46 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

15 min: Calm defending from Gabriel to stop Kroupi from threatening the Arsenal goal inside the box. Good play from Rayan before hand as he drove straight at Lewis-Skelly.

Matt Verri at Emirates Stadium

12:45 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Really good from Gyokeres. Hold-up play was secure and then burst in behind to get on the end of Madueke's pass. Positive signs to see him involved this early - can often go long periods without seeing the ball.

Arsenal 0-0 Bournemouth

12:43 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

13 min: Best we have seen from Arsenal so far as Gyokeres gets in behind the Bournemouth defence and tries to find Martinelli in the box but the cross is cut out.

Arsenal 0-0 Bournemouth

12:41 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

10 min: Decent play from Bournemouth but Evanilson can’t get onto a knockdown in the are and Gabriel shields the ball for Raya to come and collect.

Arsenal 0-0 Bournemouth

12:38 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

7 min: Rayan shows his strength by holding off both Lewis-Skelly and Havertz before winning Bournemouth a free-kick.

Matt Verri at Emirates Stadium

12:35 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Raya has already twice been about half a second away from holding the ball too long and gifting Bournemouth a corner.

Just about dropped it in time on both occasions as the referee's countdown ended.

Arsenal 0-0 Bournemouth

12:33 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

3 min: Gyokeres runs the ball out of play and protests that he didn’t. Unable to kid the officials on that occasion.

Arsenal 0-0 Bournemouth

12:32 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

2 min: Arsenal start on the front foot as Gyokeres charges down an attempted pass from Hill and that allows the Gunners to squeeze up the pitch.

There is an early concern for the Cherries as Evanilson takes a blow to the face from Gabriel.

KICK-OFF!

12:30 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Away we go!

As it stands

12:28 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Victory for Arsenal will move them 12 points clear at the summit, placing Manchester City under immense pressure ahead of their game against Chelsea tomorrow afternoon.

Bournemouth, meanwhile, know a win lifts them into the top half of the table.

HERE WE GO!

12:26 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

The teams are out at the Emirates.

Kick-off is next.

Last time at the Emirates

12:25 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Last season, Bournemouth secured their first-ever win at the Emirates.

Premier League title scenario

12:20 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Arsenal remain heavy favourites to win their first Premier League crown in over two decades, helped significantly before the international break by hard-fought wins over Brighton and Everton coupled with Man City being held to back-to-back draws against relegation-threatened sides in Nottingham Forest and West Ham.

The Gunners now hold a nine-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

Man City’s maximum points total is now 85, which means the Gunners require 16 more points from a possible 21 to clinch the title and that works out to be five wins and a draw from their remaining seven matches.

Kick-off approaching in north London

12:15 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

15 minutes to go until kick-off at the Emirates.

Why Arsenal stars are absent today

12:10 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Martin Odegaard and Riccardo Calafiori are not involved for Arsenal against Bournemouth this afternoon because of injury.

Both players started Arsenal’s 1-0 Champions League quarter-final first leg win over Sporting CP on Tuesday night, but are not in the matchday squad for today’s lunchtime kick-off at the Emirates Stadium.

It remains to be seen if either player will be available for selection against Sporting in the second leg next week or the potential Premier League title-decider away at Manchester City.

Arsenal once again without Odegaard, Saka and Timber, while Calafiori has seemingly picked up yet another injury problem. Just can't stay fit.

Next Arsenal great emerges as defining weapon in title race

11:10 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

There have been regular reminders of just how important David Raya is to this Arsenal side, writes Matt Verri.

The Spaniard been so consistent in recent seasons - winning the Premier League Golden Glove award in each of the past two campaigns - that it can go under the radar what he does in goal for the Gunners.

However, Kepa Arrizabalaga's struggles in the Carabao Cup final, and a not particularly impressive performance in the FA Cup defeat by Southampton that followed, emphasised the drop-off.

Mikel Arteta reveals new Arsenal contract update

11:05 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Mikel Arteta declared that he still has "so much ambition" at Arsenal, but said there was no rush to agree a new contract.

The Spaniard's existing deal in north London runs until the summer of 2027, raising the prospect of him going into next season with less than a year left to go.

Arteta and Arsenal are relaxed over the situation and have put off serious talks for now, with the full focus on delivering a first Premier League title in 22 years.

Those discussions are expected to pick up in the summer and while that has created some uncertainty, Arteta made it clear that he still views the job as a long-term project.

Mikel Arteta issues Arsenal transfer warning

11:00 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Mikel Arteta warned he will have no issue being ruthless when it comes to the futures of Arsenal's academy products.

The Hale End production line has been a successful one for a long time at Arsenal and that has continued in recent seasons.

Bukayo Saka has become the star of this current side, while Emile Smith Rowe and Eddie Nketiah are among those to have been sold for significant fees.

Arsenal will be open to selling first-team players this summer to fund further squad strengthening, with spending not expected to be on the same level as last summer's investment.

Speculation continues over the futures of Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly in particular, with the BBC reporting on Thursday that it appears Arsenal will listen to offers for both players in the summer and would be looking for a combined fee of £100million.

Arsenal get surprise boost

10:55 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Piero Hincapie took part in Arsenal training ahead of the Premier League clash against Bournemouth.

Hincapie has not featured for Arsenal since the Carabao Cup final defeat to Manchester City last month after withdrawing from international duty early with Ecuador, subsequently missing the FA Cup tie at Southampton and the Champions League quarter-final first leg win over Sporting CP.

The defender, along with Bukayo Saka, Jurrien Timber, Martin Odegaard and Riccardo Calafiori, had emerged as a doubt for the lunchtime kick-off at the Emirates Stadium after missing Thursday’s session at London Colney.

Mikel Arteta revals the Arsenal star that has been missed 'so much'

10:50 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Mikel Arteta believes Arsenal have missed Martin Odegaard "so much" during his injury-hit season, insisting they are a much better side when he is starting.

The Arsenal captain has started only 13 Premier League matches this season, and just three of the Gunners' 11 fixtures in the Champions League.

A shoulder issue hampered Odegaard earlier in the campaign, while it has been a knee injury in more recent months that has proved a problem.

Odegaard returned after six weeks out to start away at Southampton last weekend, but he was then forced off in the second half against Sporting in midweek.

The 27-year-old did not train on Thursday and is a doubt to face Bournemouth on Saturday as a result, and Arteta emphasised how big a miss it would be if Odegaard did miss out again.

Predicted Arsenal XI

10:45 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

If Mikel Arteta is to freshen up his side, Cristhian Mosquera is an option to come in at right-back to help manage Ben White's workload.

Kai Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli were both brilliant off the bench against Sporting and combined to score the winner in stoppage time. The pair looked sharp and could each come into the starting lineup here.

That appears particularly likely on the left wing, with Leandro Trossard yet to score a goal in any competition in 2026.

Predicted Arsenal XI (4-2-3-1): Raya; Mosquera, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Zubimendi, Rice; Madueke, Havertz, Martinelli; Gyokeres.

Arsenal must embody fighting spirit in crucial fixture

10:40 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Mikel Arteta wants the Arsenal fans to be loud, engaged and, seemingly, starving.

Whether Arteta even knows who John Sitton is remains uncertain, but the Spaniard channeled the former Leyton Orient manager's message.

Sitton, in that infamous half-time team talk, was telling his players to grab anything they could get their hands on, including their dinner, as he threatened to fight them. Put in that context, Arteta's rallying cry on the same theme was tame by comparison.

The Gunners host Bournemouth in the lunchtime kick-off on Saturday. Victory would take them 12 points clear of Manchester City for at least 24 hours.

Score prediction

10:20 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Arsenal will need to be at their clinical best against the Cherries, who are stalemate specialists after a remarkable five draws in a row in the Premier League - including three goalless draws.

It will be interesting to see how much Mikel Arteta rotates against a Bournemouth side who are capable of beating any team on their day. One eye will surely be on the visit of Sporting in the Champions League next Wednesday, but the Gunners head coach will not want to jeopardise the title chances in any way.

Expect a strong Arsenal team as they look to put the game to bed before Arteta takes off more senior stars. But Arsenal are not a team blessed with the creativity required to rack up a big score.

Arsenal to win, 2-1.
