Arsenal target Facundo Torres has confirmed the Gunners made contract over a transfer as he awaits further talks.
As reported by Standard Sport in November, Torres has been of interest at the Emirates Stadium ahead of the current transfer window after being identified by famed South American talent scout Toni Lima.
Torres, who played and scored against Arsenal in a pre-season friendly over the summer, has been touted for a possible move to the Premier League after the Gunners missed out to Chelsea for top target Mykhaylo Mudryk.
The 22-year-old Orlando City star says Arsenal made an approach ahead of the World Cup and is now expecting fresh contact soon.
"Orlando City confirmed to me that there was contact with Arsenal, but then I left for the World Cup and I didn’t want to hear about a potential transfer at that point," he told 90min.com.
"So the conversation stayed there but now that I am back with the team, we will see where the conversation goes.
He added: "I would love to play in Europe. It’s a dream I’ve had since I was a kid. At the moment I am focused on Orlando City.
"But La Liga or Premier League would be my targets, and that’s where the rumors are coming from ... I would absolutely love that."
