Arsenal return to action on Monday night against Oxford United in the third round of the FA Cup, meaning they have had a rare weekend without a fixture.
Work has been continuing behind the scenes, however, as Mikel Arteta and Edu accelerate their plans for the January transfer window. Mykhaylo Mudryk remains strongly linked with a move to north London this month, although bitter London rivals Chelsea have also entered the race for the Ukraine international.
Meanwhile, Gunners target Danilo is the subject of a formal transfer offer from an unnamed club as interest grows in the Palmeiras midfielder. Here are the latest transfer stories coming out of Emirates Stadium.
Gunners can entice Rice
Arsenal are positioning themselves well to attract Declan Rice to Emirates Stadium, according to a report in CaughtOffside.
Chelsea and Manchester United have long been viewed as the Premier League giants vying for Rice's services as his West Ham contract runs down, but the Gunners are an attractive prospect for a summer transfer as they appear destined to return to the Champions League with at least a top-four finish.
Further, it seems likely the Irons will need to lower their nine-figure price tag for the 23-year-old as his deal expires in 2024, although there is the option to extend that for another year. Rice has reportedly turned down numerous contract offers from the east Londoners, heightening speculation over his future.

Mudryk hint
Arsenal remain intensely linked with Mykhaylo Mudryk despite Chelsea's attempts to hijack their swoop for the Shakhtar Donetsk forward.
The Gunners have seen two bids rejected for the Ukraine international and are reluctant to meet Shakhtar's asking price for the 22-year-old, raising questions of whether a deal can be struck.
There could be a telling hint over Mudryk's future imminently, as Shakhtar are set to travel to Turkey on Monday. If the youngster is not present with the rest of his teammates, it would suggest that he will indeed be on the move in the January transfer window.
Mystery Danilo offer
An offer has been submitted for Danilo, the Palmeiras prospect who has been linked with Arsenal, according to GOAL in the player's native Brazil.
The report does not state where the bid has come from, while the Gunners' interest in the 21-year-old midfielder was believed to have lessened in recent days.
Danilo is a vital player for Palmeiras and has enjoyed a trophy-laden spell with the Sao Paulo club, winning the Copa Libertadores - the South American equivalent of Europe's Champions League - in 2020 and 2021.
