Arsenal transfer news and rumours: Huge Tielemans demands, Pino plan drawn-up, Zaha to replace big money star

Mikel Arteta has made little secret of his desire to strengthen his impressive-looking Arsenal squad even further.

Sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League table as things stand, the idea of more reinforcement arriving will be hugely exciting for supporters.

A lack of squad depth was cited as the key reason Arteta’s side fell away from Champions League contention last season and the Spaniard seems keen to ensure that does not happen again.

With plenty of names linked, here’s a look at the latest Arsenal transfer news.

Youri Tielemans

It seems impossible to imagine a situation in which Youri Tielemans stays at Leicester this summer.

A hugely talented player, the Belgian seemingly has little desire to sign a new contract at the King Power Stadium and his current deal expires in less than a year.

Leicester would surely sell should the right offer emerge but that has not been forthcoming, despite Arsenal’s long-standing interest.

According to the Sun, the player’s wage demands aren’t helping.

They suggest Tielemans is looking for around £200k-per-week.

Yeremy Pino

While Pedro Neto is a priority target for Arsenal heading into the final few days of the window, there are fears Wolves could price the Gunners out of a move.

As a result, Arteta and technical director Edu Gaspar are reportedly drawing up a contingency plan.

According to the Daily Express, Villarreal star Yeremy Pino is seen as a fall-back option.

Wilfried Zaha

Back in 2019, Arsenal moved for Nicolas Pepe ahead of making a huge bid for Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha.

Now, with Pepe in talks over a potential move away after failing to convince, the club could reportedly revisit that situation.

While the Palace forward is constantly linked with a move away, Zaha has now entered the final year of his contract.

According to transfer insider Dean Jones, the club have an “eye” on the Ivory Coast international.
