Arsenal have been told signing Alexander Isak would take them to "another level" and finally win the Premier League title.
The Newcastle striker is considered a transfer target for the Gunners this summer after another impressive campaign, which has seen him score 20 goals in the Premier League despite missing 10 games through injury.
Isak joined Newcastle just under two years ago for around £60million and are expected to demand upwards of £100m should they be forced to sell to remain on the right side of the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations. Star midfielder Bruno Guimaraes has also long been linked with a move away.
Former Arsenal player Paul Merson believes Isak could be the missing piece of the title puzzle for Mikel Arteta, after last season's end-of-season collapse and this season's likely repeat heartache.
"Newcastle need to look to keep their players as teams are going to be sniffing around for Alexander Isak, Anthony Gordon and Bruno Guimaraes," Merson wrote.
"They are a massive team, but I wouldn’t be surprised if some of their stars moved on to win trophies. If Arsenal sign a striker like Isak, I think they go to another level."
