Arsenal have tabled a third bid for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk, reports transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The Gunners have already submitted two offers to the Ukrainian outfit over the past few weeks, but have had both rejected on their way towards an agreement.
Rivals Chelsea have been linked with hijacking the move, having held talks over a switch, but Romano adds that there's no official bid from the Blues yet and Arsenal remain in the lead. It comes after months of rumours and links between the north London outfit and the 22-year-old.
Mudryk was a target in the summer transfer window for Edu Gaspar, but the side were unable to get a deal across the line in time. Since then, the winger has impressed with his performances in the league and Champions League, such as his goal in a cameo against Real Madrid.

Since then, there has been a flurry of hints at a transfer from the Ukraine international, who continues to post on social media over a switch as well as host media interviews. One of those was with Oleksandr Zinchenko's wife, Vlanda Sedan, where he said on YouTube: "From a purely hypothetical perspective, if there was the option of being a bench player for Real Madrid or a starter for Arsenal, I’d probably choose Arsenal. But it’s a tough question and involves a lot of factors in my answer.
"I would first want to know from the head coach that even if I wasn’t a guaranteed starter, that I’d receive a chance. Essentially I need to hear directly from the manager what he envisages my role in his side to be."
With a new bid tabled for Mudryk, it remains to be seen if that move will edge over the point of completion in the coming weeks. However, all things seem to be pointing towards a switch to the Emirates Stadium before the deadline.
