Arsenal star Reiss Nelson responds to clear Granit Xhaka demand amid Man City title battle

Arsenal resume their Premier League title battle with Manchester City this weekend with a trip to Fulham. The Gunners are currently five points clear at the top with 13 games remaining and can edge closer to their first league success in nearly 20 years with a win.

Mikel Arteta's side will face a quick turnaround on Sunday after travelling to Portugal on Thursday to face Sporting CP in the Europa League. The north Londoners rescued a 2-2 draw against the Liga NOS side thanks to a Hidesmasa Morita's own goal.

The upcoming league test against Fulham proves another sturdy test, with Marco Silva's side sitting seventh in the table and on course to make a return to European football.

By the time the Gunners make the 10-mile trip to Craven Cottage, Man City would have already played Crystal Palace and potentially cut the gap at the top to only two points.

Ahead of the game, midfield maestro Granit Xhaka has posted a possible cryptic message to his teammates on his personal Instagram page. The Switzerland international returned to Arteta's starting line-up on Thursday after dropping to the bench against Bournemouth.

"Believe in yourself," he wrote. "You are braver than you think, more talented than you know, and capable of more than you imagine."

Xhaka has overseen a tremendous turnaround in fortunes at the club under Arteta. The 30-year-old has been a colossal in midfield and was named Swiss Footballer of the Year in January.

Among those to respond to Xhaka was Reiss Nelson, Arsenal's saviour in last weekend's 3-2 defeat of Bournemouth. He wrote: "My man" and attached a love heart emoji.
