Arsenal have confirmed the sale of Lucas Torreira to Galatasaray in a deal worth £5.5million.
The Uruguayan midfielder’s exit marks the seventh transfer departure for the Gunners this summer, with the largest fees so far recouped for Matteo Guendouzi and Bernd Leno.
On Monday night, Arsenal confirmed the deal after Torreira put pen to paper on a four-year contract.
The club stated: “Everyone at Arsenal thanks Lucas for his contribution during his time with us. We wish Lucas and his family the best of health and happiness in their new chapter with Galatasaray.”
I am very happy and excited to be a new @GalatasaraySK player. I am convinced that this is the beginning of a long and successful history together.

Since signing in 2018 for £26m from Sampdoria, Torreira made 89 appearances for the Gunners but fell out of favour under Mikel Arteta and was loaned out to Atletico Madrid - where he won LaLiga - and Fiorentina.
The Serie A side failed to agree a deal to sign the player permanently earlier in the summer despite having pre-agreed a fee with Arsenal.
Torreira wrote on social media following the announcement: “I am very happy and excited to be a new Galatasaray player. I am convinced that this is the beginning of a long and successful history together. Thank you for trusting me and I promise to leave everything for these colours. Let's go Gala!”
