Arsenal recall young midfielder Miguel Azeez from Ibiza loan spell

Arsenal have recalled Miguel Azeez from his loan spell at Spanish club UD Ibiza.

The midfielder made 11 appearances for the second-tier side, who are languishing at the bottom of the league table.

A statement read: “Miguel Azeez is no longer a UD Ibiza player. Arsenal and UD Ibiza have reached an agreement to end the loan that linked him to our club.

“From UD Ibiza we wish him all the luck in the world in his professional future. Thank you Miguel!”

Prior to leaving on deadline day of the summer window, Azeez had been a regular in Arsenal’s Under-21 team.

Mikel Arteta will now have to decide whether to send the 20-year-old out on loan again or return him to the reserves.

A space on the first-team bench appears unlikely for Azeez despite young forward Nathan Butler-Oyedeji making the squad for the draw with Newcastle, as the league leaders are well-stocked for midfielders.
