Arsenal player ratings vs Leeds as Gabriel Jesus causes chaos and Gabriel Martinelli superb

Aaron Ramsdale: A couple of decent saves in the first half when called upon. An option for passing when his backline needed him too and switched on throughout. 7.

Ben White: Wasn't having the best of first halves after disappearing mysteriously early in the warm up. Popped up at the start of the second half with a well taken goal though. Now his highest ever goalscoring season. 7.

Rob Holding: Another solid game of deputising for William Saliba. Defended the slippery Leeds front line well for the most part and didn't get sucked in to too many one-vs-one duels. 7.

Gabriel: It's almost a given now that Gabriel will put in a solid display for Arsenal. Impressive in possession and defensively. Telling that Leeds tried to attack more down the right. 6.

Oleksandr Zinchenko: Up to his usual tricks when drifting infield while Arsenal were in possession, but not quite as influential as when at his best. Turned his back to deflect in the Kristensen goal which is disappointing. 6.

Thomas Partey: Found it difficult to impact the game massively, particularly in the first half when Leeds packed the middle of the pitch. Decent in possession though. 6.

Granit Xhaka: Tried to get forward more like he has been recently in the first half but was marked well by Kristensen. A compliment to him that Leeds sort to directly stop his threat, but as gaps appeared late on he was able to punish them with his third goal in three Arsenal appearances. 7.

Martin Odegaard: Another whose threat was largely scuppered by Leeds work defending the central areas well. Took advantage of the space that appeared late on to provide an assist with his last kick of the game. 6.

Leandro Trossard: Seven assists now for the Belgian since his arrival in January. That is simply outstanding. Maybe not at his most influential best on the right wing, but that shows his versatility and how much of an asset he is to the side. 7.

Gabriel Jesus: The exact full Premier League return the Brazilian would have hoped for. Missed a chance early but bounced back to score two, even if he may have dived for the penalty. Brought the chaos Arteta wanted. 8.

Gabriel Martinelli: A real threat down the left with his direct running that Luke Ayling couldn't live with. An excellent assist for Ben White's goal. 8.

SUBSTITUTES -

Bukayo Saka: Maybe a sign of how good Arsenal's strength in depth is that they coped well without him. Would still expect him to be back at Anfield despite the illness.

Jorginho: Kept possession ticking over at the base of midfield. The game was won by the time he came on. 6.

Emile Smith Rowe: Came on too late to influence the game. n/a.

Kieran Tierney: Came on too late to influence the game. n/a.

Fabio Vieira: Came on too late to influence the game. n/a.
