As Declan Rice closes in on a move to Arsenal, the shirt number he will be allocated remains somewhat of a mystery following yet another twist.
After weeks of negotiations between the Gunners and West Ham United over the 24-year-old, a full agreement has finally been struck for a £105 million deal which will not only make the England international a club-record signing but the most expensive British player ever, eclipsing Jack Grealish in the process.
Therefore, the England international has been granted permission to undergo a medical with Arsenal. Assuming everything goes to plan, supporters will be looking forward to seeing the midfielder holding up his new shirt at his unveiling - but what squad number could he take?
