Arsenal handed major Christopher Nkunku transfer twist as Inter Milan star firmly on Edu's radar

Arsenal are pushing for Champions League qualification this season. But concerns around squad depth has seen optimism of finishing in the top four take a knock.

Kieran Tierney has been ruled out for the remainder of the season, whilst Thomas Partey could be set for the same fate. Meanwhile, Takehiro Tomiyasu still hasn't returned to the line-up, although he is expected to be in training this week if all goes to plan.

Regardless of whether they qualify for the Champions League, however, Arsenal will be looking to strengthen in the summer, primarily in the central forward and midfield areas. With that in mind, football.london has rounded-up some of the latest transfer rumours surrounding the club.

Christopher Nkunku

Arsenal could miss out on the signing of RB Leipzig star Nkunku, with AC Milan now eyeing a move for the midfielder amid a takeover of the Italian club. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, via HITC, the France international is one of four players Milan could sign this summer should Investcorp complete the takeover of the Rossoneri.

William Saliba

Saliba has stated that there is a 'chance' he stays in France next season, casting further doubt over his future at Arsenal: "There is always a chance," he told Le Parisien after being asked whether he will stay in France next season.

"I do not hide that I am very happy in Marseille. I have developed, I have passed a milestone. If I make it into France’s squad it’s thanks to Marseille, because there is a lot of visibility.

"They are a very big club with a lot of pressure, but when you’re good there are a lot of good things that happen to you. We will see in May or June depending on the discussions. Today, my future, I don’t know what it is."

Lautaro Martinez

According to FC Inter News, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid both have a ‘concrete interest’ in Martinez. The Gunners are in dire need of a clinical frontman this summer, with Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette both into the final few months of their contracts at the Emirates Stadium.
