Arsenal are still active in the summer transfer window, as Mikel Arteta confirmed in the build-up to the first victory of the season against Crystal Palace. Alongside a midfielder needing to be signed, a more attacking player is also needed to improve the goal-scoring threat for the Gunners.
Arteta said about the transfer window: “It’s incredible how much business the club has already done across the Premier League, and it shows how competitive this is. It’s not going to stop that. Players are going to have to leave, some others to move, and everything is open still.”
With the forward department needing to be strengthened, one player who is a possibility for the Gunners is Memphis Depay from Barcelona. And the north London side have been given a boost as their main competitor for his signature in Juventus has reportedly pulled out of the race to sign him.
