Arsenal have just a few days to get all of their transfer business completed before they have to settle with the current squad and continue their push in all competitions. Mikel Arteta made a number of signings before the season started, spending over £100million after narrowly missing out on a return to the Champions League.
The focus has since switched to fringe players securing exits to trim down the squad, with the latest being club-record signing Nicolas Pepe on loan to OGC Nice for the campaign. While some are still eyeing a move away, there could still be some movement into the club.
Discussing the possibility of transfers in the next week, Arteta said: "We have done it in a different way. At the start of the window we signed players before getting other players out. Now we have done something different, we have let a player go and maybe [we’ll] be able to recruit somebody.

"But it’s not a guarantee because the players are still not here. What I guarantee is the day the window closes, for me this is the best team in the world and I will try to get the best out of them, that’s it."
While the right-wing is now an area that has a reduction in options available following the loss of Pepe, the midfield is also a position that continues to be linked with players that could sign. The one that has been ever-present throughout the summer is the potential addition of Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans.
The Belgian has just one-year remaining on his deal and is unlikely to re-sign with the Foxes, leaving a move open throughout the summer. While the Gunners have shown interest, they have pursued other areas and targets, however there is still a possibility of landing the 25-year-old.
With no move made yet, eyes may have wandered onto other targets or alternatives in the midfield. That's because ESPN reporter James Olley reports that Arsenal are interested in Celtic star Matt O'Riley, with a bid of £15million-£20million a bid that may tempt the Scottish champions.
The reporter adds that the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, and Borussia Dortmund are also following a move for the 21-year-old. The Danish youth international - who was born in London - has impressed for the Glasgow outfit since making his £1.6million switch from MK Dons in January.
Should he continue on his current trajectory, there's a huge future ahead of O'Riley, clearly shown by the Gunners' interest among other English and European rivals.
