An arrest has been made following the discovery of a body in “unexplained circumstances” last year.
Late in 2022, the body of the woman was found in "unexplained circumstances" at Ardshanavooley in Killarney, at around 1.15pm on Monday, August 15. She was named locally in the region as Miriam Burns, 75.
Investigating Gardaí have now arrested a man in connection with the discovery on Wednesday, February 8, 2023.

The man, who is aged in his 50s, is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in Cork city. Investigations are ongoing.
Gardaí had previously arrested a suspect, however, they were subsequently released without charge last year.
Tributes poured in for Burns following the discovery, with local councillor Donal Grady telling the News at One: "We will remember her as a woman who was always in good humour. She always had a broad smile and was everybody’s friend.
“She was very popular, a bouncy girl. She may have been 75 but she looked 50. She was everyone’s friend. We are all in bits, we’re devastated."
