Woman allegedly raped in Birkenhead Park as man arrested
Police have arrested a man after a woman was allegedly raped in Birkenhead Park.
Detectives are investigating an alleged rape on Wednesday, April 20. The incident is said to have taken place at Birkenhead Park at around 9.40pm.
A 22-year-old man, from Birkenhead, has been arrested on suspicion of rape. He has since been released under investigation as enquires continue.

Appeal after body of woman, 50, found in house
An appeal has been launched to find relatives of a 50-year-old in Kirkby.
The body of Michelle Taylor, who lived on Melverley Road in Kirkby, was found in a house on Sunday, April 3. Merseyside Police are looking for her next on kin on behalf of Sefton Coroner's Office.
There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the 50-year-old's death.

Liverpool drivers could be charged under Clean Air Zone plans
Liverpool City Council has been instructed by the government to produce a clean air plan, which could see a Clean Air Zone (CAZ) in the city.
As part of the plan, the council is required to look at whether a CAZ charge could work in the city. A Clean Air Zone is defined as 'a targeted measure to improve air quality resulting from pollution from vehicles and a measure to reduce Nitrogen Dioxide emissions which are harmful to human health.'
Strategic Director for City Development Director, Mark Bousfield said: “Liverpool has spent the last two years developing and refining proposals to make sure we understand the problems and find the best solution for the city, businesses and residents. Residents and stakeholders have expressed strong views, both in the city and across the wider city region. We do still however need feedback from taxi drivers and businesses in the city and city region to understand the impact a charging CAZ would make to them.”
