AROUND 30 firefighters are tackling a blaze at a restaurant in Aberdeen.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) sent six appliances and other specialist resources to the scene at Vovem in Union Street when the alarm was raised at about 11.45am on Thursday.
SFRS said firefighters found the restaurant “well alight” when they arrived.
The fire service said crews remain at the site as they work to make the area safe.
Police said road closures are in place on Union Street, Summer Street, Union Wynd and Little Chapel Street and asked members of the public to avoid the area.
UPDATE: The fire service said the blaze has been extinguished and the last appliance left the scene at 5.30pm.
There are no reports of any casualties.
