Armed police have descended on a street in Bolton tonight following reports of a shooting.
Police were called to Parkfield Avenue, in Farnworth, at about 5.20pm tonight after reports of a suspected shooting in the area. GMP say 'specialist armed officers attended' and secured the area, with officers 'hunting down those involved'.
Shortly afterwards, police were also called to two serious incidents, both of which were in Farnworth, that detectives are treating as linked to the shooting. Officers were sent to nearby Bradford Road after a vehicle had smashed into another vehicle and to Lavender Road, where a Jeep had been driven into a home.
Images show the Land Rover Defender, which appears to have had its windows smashed, at the centre of one of the police cordons.

Cordons are in place in each of the three crime scenes tonight, GMP have said. No arrests have been made.
Superintendent Mark Kenny of Greater Manchester Police said: "Specialist officers were deployed swiftly to the scene and are hunting down those involved.
"No arrests have been made at this time we are treating this as an isolated incident. A patrol plan is in place and additional officers have been deployed to the area and will remain in place throughout the night.
"I understand the concern this may cause in the community, but I wish to reassure you that our investigation is progressing at pace. Detectives are at the scene and are pursuing multiple lines of enquiry to piece together the circumstances.
"We are also appealing to anyone with information - or footage of these incidents - to come forwards and share it with us.
