Armed police were called after reports of a stabbing at a nightclub in Swansea in the early hours of Saturday. Two men were injured in the incident while a man from the city has been arrested and a weapon has been seized, according to police.
A South Wales Police spokesman said a 35-year-old man had been arrested following an assault in a nightclub in Swansea on Saturday. They confirmed the man was from Townhill, Swansea, and had been arrested on suspicion of a section 18 assault following an incident at the Fiction nightclub in Swansea city centre during the early hours of February 4.
The man was arrested shortly after the matter was reported to South Wales Police, the spokesman added. One man is receiving hospital treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. A second man was also injured but did not attend hospital.

Following the incident detective David Connick said on Saturday: "At 2.30am today officers on patrol in Swansea city centre were alerted to the report of a stabbing at the nightclub in Salubrious Place. Armed officers were deployed as a precaution to ensure the safety of the public and officers.
"The suspect remains in custody and inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of this incident. We are not looking for anyone else in relation to this matter and a weapon has been seized."
South Wales Police are now appealing for any witnesses or individuals with any information related to the incident to contact them quoting the reference *037327.
