Armed police were called to an incident involving 20 to 30 people reportedly "arguing in the street" over the Bank Holiday weekend in Newport. Armed officers received a call about a disturbance on Clarence Street at around at around 6.55pm on Sunday, April 17.
Gwent Police said officers attended after a "group of between 20 to 30 people were reportedly arguing in the street." Forces also conducted a search of the area after officers were informed about reports of weapons, but none were found.

A Gwent Police statement read: "We received a call regarding a disturbance in Clarence Street, Newport, at around 6.55pm on Sunday, April 17. Officers attended after a group of between 20 to 30 people were reportedly arguing in the street.
"A search of the area was conducted after officers were informed about reports of weapons. No weapons were found but specially-trained firearms officers also attended as a precaution. No arrests were made, and no offences were identified."
