MUMBAI: Young pacer Arjun Tendulkar has been picked by the national selectors for a High-Performance Camp for Emerging Players at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore from August 17 to September 5.
Arjun made his much-awaited IPL debut for the Mumbai Indians this season. The 23-year-old left-arm pace bowling all-rounder took 3 wickets in 4 games@30.66, with an economy rate of 9.35.
Playing for Goa, he picked 12 wickets in 7 games@45.58, with a best haul of 3 for 81, and scored 223 runs @24.77, including a maiden hundred (120) against Rajasthan on his First-Class debut, in the last edition of the Ranji Trophy.
"Goa Cricket Association is thrilled to announce that two promising players from our association, Mohit Redkar and Arjun Tendulkar, have been selected by the All India Men's Selection Committee to participate in the prestigious High-Performance Camp for Emerging Players," GCA posted on Facebook.
Arjun is the son of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar.
