Argentina escaped through a tricky group stage campaign to reach the last-16 of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and now face Australia later today.
Lionel Messi inspired his nation to the knockout rounds, where they will face an Australia side competing at this stage for only the second time in their history. It looks a tall order for the Socceroos to upset the odds against Argentina, but they will be full of confidence after beating Denmark and Tunisia in the groups.
The Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in Al-Rayyan will host this game, with the winner set to face either Netherlands or USA in the quarter-finals.

Argentina won the World Cup in 1978 and 1986 and reached the final in 2014, only to be beaten by Germany, and are among the leading contenders this time around. Having beaten Mexico and Poland 2-0 to top Group C, they are odds-on favourites to beat the Aussies, too.
