You’d be forgiven if you tuned into an episode of Big Brother Australia this season and thought you were watching Love Island.
While Colin Ridley and Holly Young’s budding romance was cut short thanks to her mid-season eviction, Bruce Dunne and Coco Beeby’s relationship evolved throughout the social experiment.
The pair went from nominating one another in week one to secretly macking on in the hot tub in week five. It’s giving Big Brother: Uncut.
Are Big Brother’s Bruce and Coco still together?
Big Brother fans have seen countless romances form across the show’s 16 seasons, from Nathan “Marty” Martin and Jess Hardy in 2002 to Tully Smyth and Anthony Drew in 2013.
Unfortunately, none of these relationships stayed together long after the show — but what about Bruce and Coco?
Well, the couple spent some time apart after leaving the Big Brother house, but reunited this week to enjoy the long-awaited coffee and surfing date they promised one another in the house.
Bruce documented the cute date in a video on Instagram — which included the couple driving to Double Island Beach, eating prawns and drinking beer — and fans simply couldn’t get enough.
“This is the content we are all wanting to see,” one follower wrote, while another added, “You both just make sense. I hope this is the first of many surfing trips together”.
Their co-stars also popped up in the comments, with Mia Wijewardene writing: “Coco’s dream date so beautiful guys.”
Coco and Bruce both expressed a desire to continue seeing each other after the Big Brother finale earlier this month, with Coco telling PEDESTRIAN.TV that she was “looking forward to getting to know Bruce without the cameras around”.
“I think it’s going to be a whole other part of our little journey, like we are going to be able to have a little bit more of an intimate conversation,” she said.
“Because obviously, when you’re in the house, you do know that the cameras are watching, people are listening and it is hard to talk about deep, deep things. So I think just getting to know him on a deeper level, I’m excited for that.”
While both of their families attended the grand finale, they didn’t get a chance to meet one another. In fact, Coco admitted that she purposely avoided meeting her potential in-laws.
“I didn’t meet his family last night. I literally ran off and went and hid,” she remarked. “I was like, I’ve gotta get out of here. Too soon, too soon!
“I literally hid behind a car, I’m pretty sure. It’s a lot!”
So, will BruCoco go the distance? Or is the Big Brother curse real and every relationship formed inside the house is destined to fail?
For their sake, let’s hope it’s the former.
