Leeds United youngster Archie Gray has praised the 'unreal' supporters who have travelled to watch the Whites in Australia.
The 16-year-old midfielder impressed in a cameo off the bench in Leeds' 2-1 win against Brisbane Roar, with goals from Dan James and Joe Gelhardt securing the victory. Gray replaced new signing Tyler Adams in the 75th minute.
"I think I did all right," Gray told LUTV post-match. "I did what I could when I came on. Respect to Brisbane as well - they're a well-managed team and gave us a good game. There's a lot to improve on as a team and for me as well.
"When you've got Leeds fans in Australia, on the other side of the planet, shouting your name, it's unreal."
Gray did have an opportunity to shoot towards the end of the game, but instead chose to pass to a team-mate.
"I didn't realise where I was," he said. "If I had it again then I would have shot. I don't know if it would have gone in though!"
Head coach Jesse Marsch commented on Gray post-match, saying: "I don't think anyone treats him in any other way other than part of the team. We have to find ways to challenge him and to keep pushing him."
