Arabica Coffee Climbs on Forecasts for Limited Rain in Brazil

May arabica coffee (KCK25) today is up +0.90 (+0.24%), and May ICE robusta coffee (RMK25) is down -64 (-1.20%).

Coffee prices today are mixed.  Arabica coffee is climbing today after Somar Meteorologia forecasted limited rainfall in Brazil's coffee-growing regions in the next week to ten days.  Also, Cooxupe, Brazil's largest arabica coffee co-operative, said high temperatures and below-normal rainfall last month in Brazil would negatively affect coffee yields this year.  Brazil is the world's largest producer of arabica coffee.  In addition, arabica inventories have tightened after ICE-monitored arabica coffee inventories fell to a 5-week low last Friday of 771,576 bags.
