With energy prices set to rise by around 54% from tomorrow, tech retailer Currys has revealed the top offenders for increasing your bills, as well as some tips to reduce energy consumption in your home.
Lights are responsible for 16% of our energy use, while ovens, microwaves and kettles take up another 19% of our bills. Washing machines, dishwashers and other similar appliances use a quarter of UK households' electrical use.
TVs and games consoles take up another 19%. Switching these off instead of putting them on standby could save around £40 a year, Wales Online reports.
