The settlement follows a class-action lawsuit involving claims that Apple misled customers about Siri’s Apple Intelligence features. Customers who brought the lawsuit said that they purchased iPhones expecting certain Siri features that they allegedly did not receive, as per CBS News. Apple has denied the allegations, and the settlement agreement states that it is not an admission of liability or wrongdoing by Apple. The claim deadline is December 21, 2026.
Who Can Claim Money From Apple
People who bought an iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max or any iPhone 16 model between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025, can file a claim. The person filing must have originally purchased the device. The iPhone must also have been purchased for personal or professional use and not for resale, as per the settlement information cited by CBS News.
The settlement covers US customers who purchased qualifying iPhone 15 or iPhone 16 models during the specified period.
How Much Could Eligible iPhone Owners Receive
The settlement fund is worth $250 million, but the maximum payment is not guaranteed. As per the CBS News, customers who submit a valid claim will initially receive $25 per eligible device. That amount could increase to as much as $95 or decrease depending on the total number of valid claims submitted and other factors.
People with multiple eligible devices must submit a separate claim for each device and consumers are limited to one cash payment per eligible device.
How to File an Apple Siri Settlement Claim
Eligible customers can file a claim at SmartphoneAISettlement.com, as per reports.
Claimants need to provide basic personal information, including their name, address and phone number, along with their iPhone’s serial number.
While claimants can also use their Apple Account ID on the final page of the claim process. The serial number can be found by opening Settings, selecting General and then About.
However, a Claim ID and PIN are not required to begin the claim.
Payment Options for the Settlement
Claimants can choose how they want to receive the settlement payment.
WIRED reported that the available options include PayPal, Venmo, an electronic bank transfer or a paper check. CBS News lists PayPal, Venmo, direct deposit and check among the payment options.
December 21 Is the Claim Deadline
Eligible iPhone owners have until December 21, 2026, to submit a claim.
The settlement is also subject to court approval. CBS News reported that a district court in San Jose, California, is scheduled to hold a hearing on February 24, 2027, to decide whether to approve the settlement. Appeals could delay the payment process.

The lawsuit centers on claims involving Apple’s promotion of Siri features connected to Apple Intelligence. WIRED reported that the case involved allegations that Apple overhyped its Apple Intelligence tools, specifically the planned Siri AI overhaul.
