The Scottish SPCA is appealing for information after a lurcher dog was handed in to its Lanarkshire Animal Rehoming and Rescue Centre.
The male dog's tail had recently been docked, which is illegal. It was discovered in the Wishaw area and brought to the centre at Bothwell Road in Hamilton on May 17. The dog was micro-chipped but the owner's information is out-dated.
A member of the public handed the lurcher in to the centre after finding him on Meadowhead Road in Craigneuk.
Scottish SPCA inspector, Jack Marshall, said, “The dog is a male, brindle lurcher.
“He is in very poor condition and his tail appears to recently have been amputated.
“The dog is chipped to an address in Newcastle but unfortunately these details appear to be out of date.
“We believe that he may have come from the Bellshill area.
“We are urging anyone who recognises this dog, or has any information to please contact our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”
If anyone is concerned about an animal, please do not hesitate to contact our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999.
