Early in the week, Antonio Pierce was at least somewhat hopeful that Jakobi Meyers would return to practice at some point this week, opening up the possibility he would play this Sunday when the team travels to LA to face the Rams.
As of today, those hopes have diminished considerably. Meyers was unable to return to practice this week and Pierce announced Friday morning that Meyers would officially be listed as Doubtful for the game.
This is a significant loss for the Raiders. They were already quite thin at the receiver position with the departure of Davante Adams in a trade to the New York Jets. With Meyers looking like he will not be able to go, they are without both their starting outside receivers again.
Last week without Adams and Meyers, the Raiders didn’t even target a receiver until the final seconds of the first half. By the time the game was over, Tre Tucker — the only regular starter on the roster — had just two targets with zero touches.
