Antonio Conte said Tottenham's top-four finish felt like winning a trophy – then refused to give categorical assurances he will be at the club next season.
Pied Piper Conte celebrated with Spurs' travelling fans after their five-goal romp at Norwich as Son Heung-min finished on 23 goals to share the Premier League Golden Boot with Mohamed Salah. But Conte, repeatedly asked if Champions League qualification means he will definitely remain at Tottenham, replied: “We’ll see. I always said at the end season we speak with the club and find best solution for me and the club.
“Now for me, the club and the players it’s good to have four or five days of rest and then, with the mind clear, you can consider the whole season. You have to be calm before you talk. There is a lot of emotion in my mind, my heart and my head now. For this reason it would be good to rest for four or five days, meet the club and find the best possible solution. I’m a person with ambition and I like to fight for something important. I like to fight to win trophies.”
