Antonio Conte issues Harry Kane fitness update after Tottenham food poisoning outbreak claim

Antonio Conte has stated that Harry Kane will be ok for Tottenham's final Premier League game of the season against Norwich City despite feeling unwell. Such a key game for the club as they look to secure a Champions League spot ahead of Arsenal, rumours of a food poisoning outbreak at the club began to circulate on Friday.

Despite the claims, football.london understands that there is no suggestion of an outbreak at Tottenham. Kane did train with the rest of his teammates at Hotspur Way on Thursday but was absent on Friday, with the striker also pulling out of a media event he was due to attend today as a precaution.

Amid concerns from supporters over Kane's fitness given what's at stake with Tottenham and Arsenal battling it out for a top-four finish, Conte has put Tottenham fans at ease by indicating that his main man is ok and will not want to miss such an important game.

"Yeah for sure. Also because in the last game we had Deki (Kulusevski) had this problem - he didn’t have training with us on Saturday but on Sunday he was good to play. For sure Harry doesn’t want to miss this type of game. This game means a lot for everybody," said the Italian on if the striker will be fit for Sunday.

When asked about talk of food poisoning at the club, Conte stated: "If you remember the last game against Burnley we had four cases with stomach problems. This week I have to be honest we had a couple of cases about this, but we overcame this situation. Also members of the staff for one day they were not feeling so good. I don't know why but the last week and also this week we faced this situation.

"In this moment honestly this virus is the last of our problems because we are very close to reach a big achievement for the club, for our fans, for the players. We are totally focused on the game and the situation of the players, the availability, is the same as the last game against Burnley."
