Antonio Colak on his Rangers goosebumps and the unseen role Borna Barisic is playing at Ibrox

Antonio Colak has admitted to getting shivers when scoring at Ibrox as he targets that same feeling over and over again.

The Rangers summer signing netted his first competitive goal for Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men as they made it two wins from two in the Scottish Premiership with victory over Kilmarnock at Ibrox. The returning Alfredo Morelos grabbed the other goal to give the Light Blues a confidence boost ahead of Tuesday's Champions League return against Union Saint-Gilloise.

The Croatia international hitting the net will do his confidence the world of good for the upcoming games with Rangers trailing their Belgian opponents 2-0 after the first leg. He also opened up on the influence of team-mate Borna Barisic in helping him settle from day one as he hailed his countryman for everything he has done to date. Speaking about his first goal, the hitman said: "I'm really happy, it was an amazing feeling to score here at Ibrox, my first competitive goal. It's not always easy but it is the most important thing for a striker to start early as possible in the season to score.

"This gives me a lot of confidence and extra push for the upcoming games. It's always giving me goosebumps to score here at Ibrox especially in front of our fans. I just want to have this feeling as often as possible.

"It gives me a lot of energy, a lot of confidence. I just try to take advantage of every situation, every chance I can get. I just want to be as successful as possible."

On Barisic, he added: "He has given me a lot of help in the daily business we have. He just helped me from day one. It started in Portugal and helped me to adapt as fast as possible.

"It's really important to have a person like this because I know him from before from the national team. Not only him, all the other guys have helped me a lot. It was not difficult to adapt here.

"I think I have settled quite well. But it still needs more training, more games to optimise everything."

Rangers fans' favourite and key man Morelos made his long awaited return from injury as he came on for the final 26 minutes of the Ibrox clash.

The Colombian made it the perfect day as he found the back of the net with a big decision now in the hands of Van Bronckhorst for Tuesday night.

Colak is delighted to see his team-mate not only return to the fold but find the net and says having strikers who can score is vital to any success they will this campaign.

He said: "I'm really happy for him, to come back after this injury, to score is so important for us and the team in general.

"First of all, to be successful is to have strikers who score. We know how important this can be for the future. We have a long season, a lot of games. We need everybody.

"The most important thing is to have a successful team and I'm happy for him to score and I think he is happy for me to score.

"We want, of course, to score as many goals as we can. To keep the level as high as possible but it is all about the team."
