Antoine Semenyo maps out future amid Celtic 'interest' as Bristol City star knows what he wants

In-demand Antoine Semenyo insists he's in no rush to make his next move after a brilliant run of form with Bristol City.

The forward has been linked with Watford and Celtic scout Craig Strachan is understood to have watched him during his side's clash Reading earlier this month.

English football has been kind to the Premiership leaders over the years with Matt O'Riley the latest to turn heads after joining from MK Dons.

Interest in the 22-year-old has been raised due to his recent goal run that led to him being named the English Championship player of the month for January.

But Semenyo is keeping his feet firmly on the ground and admits he's in no rush to make his next move after making significant strides at Ashton Gate.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "It has always been a dream of mine from when I was young.

"But whether it comes now or in a few years, I'm not in any kind of a rush. I just want to keep working on my game so that if I do ever get to the top then hopefully there'll be no problems."

Semenyo has been praised for his versatility but the Londoner insists he's a striker at heart.

City boss Nigel Pearson thinks the same, with the jet-heeled attacker earning a chance to lead the line for his team.

He added: "I much prefer playing in the No 9. If I need to do a job out wide then I'm happy to do that, but my main position is as a striker.

"Playing out wide was tough. It was new to me. I did it out on loan too and it was all off the cuff. I am willing to learn that side of things as well, and I'm happy to play out there if needed, but I'd rather be through the middle. I feel like I can get more goals and assists there, and contribute more to the team.

"I'm versatile, I can go in behind and I can link up play when I need to. I feel like I can provide both those skills as a No 9, which is really helpful for the team. If we're struggling in possession I know I can help."
