Former Republic of Ireland international Anthony Stokes was arrested for the second time this month in the early hours of this morning after an alleged garda chase in Dublin.
The ex-Celtic striker was arrested for alleged dangerous driving at approximately 3.30am on Tuesday morning after what we believe was a pursuit by gardai.
The footballer was apprehended in Cabinteely and is due to appear before Dun Laoghaire District Court next month.
Gardaí have confirmed that they have arrested and charged a man in his 30s in relation to an incident of dangerous driving in south Dublin this morning.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed to The Irish Mirror: "Gardaí have arrested and charged a man in his 30s following an incident of dangerous driving in the Cabinteely area of Dublin. He is due to appear before Dun Laoghaire District court at a later date."

Earlier this month, Stokes was charged in connection with an alleged dangerous driving incident in which Gardai say a quantity of drugs were also found.
Stokes, who is wanted in Scotland after failing to appear at a court sentencing hearing, has been making headlines in recent years for a variety of damaging incidents.
In 2017, Stokes was given a two-year suspended sentence at Dublin Circuit Court for head-butting Elvis impersonator Anthony Bradley in an incident at Buck Whaleys nightclub in 2013.
During the incident Mr Bradley suffered a broken nose, broken teeth and serious effects on his mental health from the assault, which meant he lost his job as a security man at Dublin’s Gresham hotel and had to set aside his love of impersonating singer Elvis Presley. He also had to travel to Budapest for surgery.
In 2019, Stokes admitted a stalking campaign where he bombarded his former partner Eilidh Scott with a string of abusive messages that saw him send 100 texts a day on WhatsApp and email.
He labelled her a ‘s**t’, a ‘s**’ and a ‘w***e’, turned up at her home in Shotts, Lanarkshire, late at night and demanded to know her whereabouts.
The campaign of abuse lasted between July 2018 and February 2019.
