Newcastle United's £40million man Anthony Gordon could miss the start of pre-season training due to his involvement with England Under-21s at the European Championships.
The tournament takes place in Romania and Georgia with group games for the Three Lions on June 22 against the Czech Republic, June 25 against Israel and June 28 against Germany. Gordon is likely to be an integral figure in Lee Carsley's plans for the tournament.
Should England progress to the knockout stages the quarter-finals take place on July 1 and July 2. And if England U21s advance further, that would coincide with Newcastle's return to Benton for pre-season testing and training.
The semi-finals take place on July 5 and the final showpiece in Batumi, Georgia has a date for July 8. If Gordon was to make it all the way to the final with England, he would then be afforded extra time off.
But he would be likely to be back in time to for Newcastle's tour of the United States with the squad departing shortly after their second friendly against Glasgow Rangers on July 18. Newcastle also have Kieran Trippier, Callum Wilson, Miguel Almiron and Sven Botman on international duty for their respective nations.
