Anthony Gordon admits he was surprised to come off during England’s World Cup semi-final and says he will never get over the heartbreaking defeat to Argentina.
Gordon put his country on the cusp of a first final since 1966 when he scored in the 55th minute in Atlanta, but his withdrawal 11 minutes later changed the course of the game.
