Viewers of popular ITV show Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway noticed an 'awkward' moment during last night's episode.
The Geordie duo pranked Jeremy Clarkson during last night's family by posing as protesters on his farm.
However, the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and ex-Top Gear host seemed to take a swipe at Ant McPartlin over his drink-driving conviction during his interview last night.
When Ant and Dec first introduced Clarkson to the studio before treating viewers to the prank Jeremy said: "Look it's the driver and his friend."
Fans then quickly took to social media to share their 'awkward' feelings, reports Birmingham Live.
Ant was fined £86,000 and disqualified from driving for 20 months after admitting drink-driving in 2018.
Some fans of the show thought Ant looked fuming as they thought Jeremy was referring to the incident.
But others said he could have just meant that Ant was the driver of the bulldozer which dumped a load of soil on his Range Rover as part of the fake protest at Jeremy harming soil on his farm.
Philip Hatton said: "Blimey poor Ant , Clarkson got the car driver dig in & you could see the moment Ants heart got ripped out #SaturdayNightTakeaway."
Shelley added: "Clarksons comment about Driver and his mate went down well ...AWKWARD #SaturdayNightTakeaway."
Dan Rogers wrote: "Oh look its the driver and his mate" Ant's face. He's fuming. #SaturdayNightTakeaway."
Josh said: "Did Clarkson actually make a driver and his mate joke at Ant after his incident before? Ant looked fuming! #saturdaynighttakeaway."
Karen Alcock wrote: "#SaturdayNightTakeaway did @JeremyClarksonhave a dig at Ant and Dec, "Oh look its the driver and his friend" ?"
Megan added: "Did Jeremy really just say ‘the driver and his mate’ while on about Ant and Dec….. could feel the awkwardness through the tv #antanddec #SaturdayNightTakeaway."
