Ant and Dec are seen dragging a Britain's Got Talent contestant off stage in an explosive first look at the new series of the much loved show.
Viewers were left gutted early last year when BGT bosses confirmed that, with the country in the third national lockdown, the programme had been completely scrapped, as auditions just couldn't happen as they normally would. The sad news followed a disrupted year for the ITV show in 2020, when there was a huge gap between the already filmed auditions and the semi finals, after Covid restrictions were brought in the first time and we were were locked down for the first time.
The longest reigning Britain's Got Talent champion in the show's history, Jon Courtenay, was eventually crowned in October 2020, going onto perform at the Royal Variety Show. Jon's win was an even sweeter one for hosts Ant and Dec as he was their Golden Buzzer Act, becoming the first ever Golden Buzzer contestant to go onto win, since BGT made its debut in 2007 and was won by Paul Potts.

A first look at the new series of BGT, which Ant and Dec revealed last week is starting on Saturday, April 16, teases all the high jinks we're used to from the programme, with David Walliams winding up Simon Cowell on the judging panel; random and very eccentric acts taking their turn in the spotlight and gasps from Amanda Holden as dare devil performers take on some perilous stunts. And, one stand out moment from the preview video is Ant and Dec dragging a contestant into the wings by their legs, with Amanda hitting her red button straight after.
Taking to social media on Wednesday night, Ant and Dec shared a post from the BGT account which read: "You're going to want to hear this... BGT IS BACK ON SATURDAY THE 16th APRIL! Join us on @ITV and @WeAreSTV1 where our search for talent begins."
They illustrated the news of BGT's return with a video that featured a montage of judges and audience members crying as the hosts said: "It's been such a long time since Britain's Got Talent has been on our screens.
