Ant and Dec clarify Olivia Attwood's reason for leaving I'm a Celeb moments into show

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here hosts Ant and Dec clarified why Olivia Attwood was forced to leave the show today.

Moments after opening up the show, the Geordie presenters addressed the situation. They explained that she had to leave due to "medical reasons" and won't be coming back.

They also cleared up confusion for viewers as Olivia would still be appearing in Monday's episode, as it was filmed before she left.

Dec said: "Now as you may have heard, Olivia Attwood has left the jungle for medical reasons and sadly won't be returning." Ant added: "Now she will be featured in tonight's show, which was filmed before she had to leave. We're very sad to see her go and we wish her well."

Taking to Instagram, Olivia's account, which is currently being controlled by family, released a statement explaining why her ITV show journey was "cut short". It added that appearing on the programme had been a dream of hers for years.

In full, the message said: "To say Olivia is heartbroken is an understatement, she dreamed of doing ' I'm a Celeb ' for years, and was absolutely loving every second of the show and throwing herself into jungle life feet first (just as we knew she would)."

It continued: "However, for reasons beyond her control her journey has been cut short. Your support and kind words have meant the absolute world to her, now as much as it always has."
