Manager Peter Murphy lapped up Annan’s four-goal demolition of Bonnyrigg Rose but revealed his frustration that they were unable to produce the goods earlier.
The win eased the Galabankies into a play-off berth and Aidan Smith’s goal means he is now the club’s joint top goalscorer alongside Peter Weatherson on 55 strikes for the club.
Murphy said: “I am delighted with a 4-0 win but really frustrated with the last few weeks that we created a lot more chances and didn’t take them. When we score we build confidence.
“In this league we will win games and lose games but we should have won more than we have already with the chances that we have created.
“I am delighted for Tommy Goss to get two goals and Aidan Smith as well who has now equalled the club record goalscorer for Annan and he will score plenty more.
“I am delighted for him and deservedly got the man-of-the-match award.”
He added: “We created chances and I am delighted that we have scored four of them but there was a 10-minute spell in the game where we got really sloppy and slashed at crosses and passes.
“But thankfully our keeper Greg Fleming had just about one shot to save and he has a clean sheet which we are delighted about.
“I had said to the players beforehand that we had to be more ruthless and we were.”
