When it comes to the best units in Anime Expeditions’ release meta, rankings mostly come down to how much value each unit provides on its own. There are still relatively few units that truly matter right now, and we are, of course, mainly talking about Mythic and Secret units.
There are some synergies already, but not nearly as many as there will be once the game expands further. For now, each unit in my Anime Expeditions Tier List should be evaluated based on several key factors:
Stats
– Core unit stats such as Damage, Attack Speed, Range, Critical Chance, Critical Damage, and more.
Status Effects
– Many units apply status effects with their attacks, such as Burn, Freeze, Slow, and Bleed. These can help you clear waves faster, stall enemies, and control the battlefield more effectively.
Attack Type
– There are currently three damage types in the game: Physical, Magical, and Psychic.
Element
– Most units have an Element, such as Storm, Flame, Gale, Hydro, Dark, Neutral, Terra, Light, and more.
Passives
– Most units in the upper tiers of our Anime Expeditions Tier List have several powerful passive abilities that can make all the difference in the right team comp.
S
Anime Expeditions S Tier Units
The best Anime Expeditions units either carry runs outright or bring enough utility to make the rest of your team noticeably better. Most of these units have multiple win conditions built into their kits, whether that means scaling, summons, crowd control, economy, or absurd team buffs.

Unit
Evaluation
Shadow (Divine)
SecretDPSDarkMagicalStun / Rewind
The most complete unit in the release meta.
Shadow brings damage, permanent summons, Stun, Rewind, and a global Magical buff in one slot.
Shadow Realm rewinds enemies and gives every Magical unit
25% more Damage for 30 seconds
. That is a boss-wave reset button and a team-wide burst window at the same time.
Winged Spirit keeps throwing out AoE damage and Stuns, while Divine Spirit is effectively a permanent extra carry once summoned.
He is already cracked on his own, but in a Magical comp he becomes the unit the entire team is built around.
Puppet (Telekinetic)
MythicDPSLightPsychicPuppet Mark / Rewind
Puppet Mark targets the strongest enemy in range and makes it take
20% increased incoming damage
. Against bosses, that is basically free team-wide damage amplification with near-perfect uptime.
Complete Control adds a two-second Rewind on a short 30-second global cooldown, which can save a leaking lane or buy another attack cycle for your carries.
The Doll summon is a useful emergency blocker rather than a real DPS summon, but it still adds another layer of safety after marked enemies die.
Puppet is less of a traditional carry and more of a premium hybrid. The damage amp alone is enough to justify the slot.
8th Sword (Berserk)
SecretDPSNeutralPhysicalDismembered / Stun
A proper late-game hypercarry.
Every takedown adds 1% Damage, up to a ridiculous 100% permanent increase, so getting him down early matters.
Demonic Presence constantly chips everything inside his inner range, while Execution Cycle teleports to a target and Stuns it every 10 seconds.
At 25 takedowns, Berserk gives him another 20% Damage, lower SPA, and Dismembered on every attack for 15 seconds.
He needs kills and good placement to reach full value, but once he ramps, enemies basically get blendered for entering his range.
Crimson (Brother)
ExclusiveDPSDarkMagicalCrimson Mark / DoT
Crimson is one of the best lane-melting units because every normal attack plants a delayed explosion, and those explosions leave damaging pools behind.
Piercing Crimson is the real nuke: it deals
75% Damage every second for 10 seconds
down a selected line while repeatedly applying Crimson Mark.
He stops normal attacking during the channel, so do not just throw it out whenever it lights up. Aim it down a long lane or save it for a boss push.
The mix of burst, delayed explosions, and ground DoT makes him excellent into both dense waves and high-HP targets.
Cursed Student (True Love)
MythicDPSDarkPhysicalBleed Synergy
Cursed Mimicry copies the closest allied unit's attack every third regular attack, dealing his own current Damage plus part of that ally's Damage.
Place him next to your hardest-hitting carry and the passive becomes absurdly efficient. Put him beside a weak support and that is entirely on you.
Spirit Bats add more sustained damage in Bleed teams, but the Bleed has to come from the surrounding comp rather than Cursed Student himself.
He scales with both his own build and the unit beside him, giving him one of the highest ceilings among the Mythics.
Flame Emperor (Reincarnate)
MythicDPSFlameMagicalBurn
Wildfire turns every Burn application into four burning enemies, so Flame Emperor clears packed waves without needing perfect targeting.
Wall of Fire lets you manually tag an entire lane with Burn, which is great for catching enemies outside his normal attack pattern.
He is also the best enabler for units such as Hollow, turning Burn-dependent passives from inconsistent gimmicks into reliable damage.
Excellent wave clear, strong DoT, and premium synergy make him one of the safest Mythics to invest in.
Ramen Guy
LegendaryFarmNo ElementPhysicalYen Boost
The 50% bonus Yen from kills gets your carries online several waves earlier, which matters more than another mediocre damage unit.
He is the best farm unit currently available. Until the economy meta changes, that makes him an automatic S Tier pick for longer modes.
Toy Maker
ExclusiveSupportDarkPsychicSummons / Blocking
Toy Maker does not attack normally. He continuously throws blockers onto every path inside his range, buying your DPS units a ridiculous amount of extra uptime.
Later upgrades add movement speed, death AoE, and mutated Toys with 150% increased Health, so the summons remain relevant instead of instantly getting folded.
He is especially strong on maps where you can cover multiple lanes from one placement, although summon Health gets divided across those paths.
Raw damage charts will undersell him. In actual runs, the amount of stalling and lane control he provides is S Tier.
Salmon Sorcerer (Grade 1)
MythicSupportGaleMagicalSlow / Stagger
Salmon applies Slow at every upgrade and Staggers enemies for two seconds when they enter the inner half of his range.
That gives you two separate layers of crowd control without any complicated setup, which is exactly what you want from a support slot.
Place him where enemies enter your main kill zone and he keeps them grouped inside AoE attacks for much longer.
His own damage is secondary. The real value is how many extra attacks he gives the rest of your team.
A
Anime Expeditions A Tier Units
A Tier units are strong enough for difficult content and can look S Tier in the right setup. They usually need a specific status effect, team composition, map, or ramp-up condition before their kits fully come online.

String Demon (Awakened)
MythicDPSNeutralMagicalCocoon / Stun
Every fifth attack Cocoons enemies for up to five seconds. Break the Cocoon with 10 hits and it pops for
125% of String Demon's current Damage
.
String Sync can also force up to three linked allies to perform follow-up attacks, making fast teams even more obnoxious.
The catch is that both passives want a high attack volume. In a slow comp, Cocoons expire without exploding and String Sync loses a lot of its ceiling.
Reaper (Released)
MythicDPSLightPhysicalPermanent Self-Buffs
Adaptation gives Reaper 10% Damage and Critical Chance for every different enemy type he attacks, so he scales extremely well on varied maps.
Once the Crit starts flowing, Critical Tempo can maintain up to 15% lower SPA, giving him a clean Damage, Crit, and Attack Speed scaling loop.
Mirage Step is useful for repositioning and creates a clone, while Mirage Swap gives him a built-in Stun cleanse.
Excellent when the stage feeds him multiple enemy types, merely good when it does not. That map dependence keeps him below S Tier.
Lady Giant (Envy)
MythicDPSTerraPhysicalStone Walls
Lady Giant mixes respectable DPS with two automatically spawning Stone Walls, giving her more lane control than most pure carries.
Every four attacks throws an extra rock for 100% Damage, increased to 125% while she is in Giant Form.
Giant Form gives a massive 125% Damage and 50% Range boost, but the 25% SPA increase makes her attack slower. It is a burst window, not a permanent god mode.
Strong, flexible, and easy to use, but she does not scale or amplify a team as hard as the S Tier carries.
Hollow (Blaze)
MythicDPSFlameMagicalAustere Flames
Hollow consumes Burn applications and converts them into Austere Flames, dealing 65% Damage on attack or 85% when Burn expires inside his range.
With Flame Emperor constantly spreading Burn, Hollow becomes a proper damage engine that keeps cashing in those applications.
Without a reliable Burn applicator, half the kit is sitting there doing nothing. Great specialist, average standalone carry.
A straightforward Magical buffer that becomes better with every strong Magical carry you can fit inside his range.
He is cheap, slot-efficient, and does exactly what a support should do. The only reason he is not S Tier is that he contributes almost nothing outside Magical teams.
The Hero is the Physical version of Forbidden Teacher, and he is just as valuable when your comp is stacked with Physical DPS.
Cluster several carries around him and the buff easily earns back the team slot. Bring him into a Magical lineup and he is basically decorative furniture.
True Saint (Holy)
ExclusiveSupportLightMagicalTrue Saint Mark
Regular attacks mark up to five enemies, while Crits detonate every active mark for extra damage. The free Critical Chance gained from upgrades keeps the loop fairly consistent.
Seize turns True Saint into a temporary carry by stealing 20% Damage from the three strongest nearby allies for 60 seconds.
That burst can be strong, but you are powering him up by weakening your actual carries. Useful when timed well, griefing your own team when timed badly.
Elf Mage (Unleashed)
MythicDPSWindMagicalMana Burn
Elf Mage casts extra 100% Damage attacks at three, five, and seven Arcane Charges, rotating between Line, Circle, and Full AoE.
Eruption also applies Mana Burn, while every full charge reset permanently increases Arcane Spell Damage by 5%, up to 25%.
She needs time to cycle charges and build Overcharge stacks, but longer modes give her excellent AoE uptime and scaling.
Very strong once rolling, just not as immediately oppressive as the S Tier carries.
So there you have it, that's the reasoning behind my S and A tiers in the Anime Expeditions Tier List. There's no point going through the remaining tiers as those units either don't have any passives or are simply not meta-relevant enough for me to take enough time to write about them, to be honest.
For now, that’s all I have to say about the best units in Anime Expeditions for the release meta. Thanks for reading, and if you enjoyed my analysis, feel free to check out some of the other pieces I’ve written in our Roblox guides section.
