Striking bus drivers in Merseyside said there was 'anger and disbelief' on the picket lines as they heard the latest pay offer from Arriva.
Bus drivers working for the major company in the region will today begin their 15th day of strikes in the continuous action over pay and conditions. It is the start of the third week in which there have been no Arriva buses anywhere on Merseyside.
Yesterday, Arriva bosses said they were 'extremely disappointed' that the Unite and GMB unions had chosen not to put their latest pay offer to their members for a ballot. It is understood that the offer was for an 8.5% pay rise, backdated to April.
