Angelina Jolie makes rare appearance alongside son Maddox for special reason

Angelina Jolie made an incredibly rare appearance alongside her son Maddox for a very special occasion.

The actress, 47, and her eldest child Maddox, 21, were dressed to impress on Wednesday (April 26) when they attended a high profile event at the White House.

Angelina and her son attended a lavish State Dinner in the nation's capitol hosted by President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden.

The President hosted the State Dinner while welcoming South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol and his wife Kim Keon-hee in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the alliance between the United States and the Republic of Korea.

Maddox, who is the son of the Hollywood starlet, was adopted by her from Cambodia in 2002, and looked dapper while in attendance at the event with his mum.

Wearing a black suit and his hair down and straight, Maddox looked suave as he accompanied Angelina to the White House.

Angelina could be seen looking chic in an all-cream look, which comprised of a long and floaty gown paired with a jacket.

The dress was made from a floaty chiffon material, that appeared to drape over the star's svelte frame.

With tuxedo-style buttons and lapels, Angelina rocked a cream blazer-style jacket draped over her shoulders as she held onto her son's arm.

Maddox was far from being out of his depth while attending the state dinner alliance between the United States and the Republic of Korea.

After having studied biochemistry at Yonsei University in Seoul, Maddox is very familiar with South Korea, with Angelina also well acquainted too.

Flying out to South Korea to visit various college campuses in 2018, she then flew out there again to send her son off to college in August 2019 after having selected a suitable university.

Maddox reportedly "got accepted to other universities" but is said to have opted for Yonsei due to it being right for him at the time, according to People.

And although he is said to have studied biochemistry, he also thought to have studied the Korean language, according to various outlets.
